Clientele
I specialize in working with developmental/relational and complex trauma. Believe it or not, just about all of us have experienced some form of complex trauma. I love to work with people who are ready to make a change. People who are in search of a new way to experience themselves in their life.
My practice of NARM Therapy is appropriate for people experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, relationship stress or some form of malcontent/feeling stuck in life. Most of my clientele are adults; I work with some older adolescents.
People of any race, gender, sexual orientation, sexual preference, size, ability & religious identity are welcome. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly. I am a cis, white straight woman open to working with anyone I can ethically serve.
No Surprises Act
As of January 1, 2022, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requires all practitioners to provide Good Faith Estimates for new and continuing clients who are either uninsured or not planning to use their insurance (i.e. pay out of pocket for their care).
The No Surprises Act was enacted to protect clients from unexpected medical bills. While much of the No Surprises Act focuses on emergency services and out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, there are sections that apply to all healthcare providers. As a private mental health practitioner, I can provide you with Good Faith Estimates in compliance with the No Surprises Act.
Therapy info
Therapy sessions
I use a HIPAA compliant platform for telehealth services and documentation, Simple Practice.
Therapy sessions last 45-55 minutes.
I recommend starting weekly for 3-6 sessions after which twice per month is a nice balance for many clients. I recommend six months of regularly scheduled sessions. From there, some people benefit from ongoing services at the same pace or choose to continue at a reduced frequency. I work with people individually to determine a plan.
If I am not available or cannot ethically work with you, I will help you find someone who can.
Insurance
I do not accept insurance directly. I do work with Alma, a therapy platform where most Aetna, United & Cigna insurance policies are accepted.
Out-of-network benefits
I have partnered with Nirvana to support clients in accessing reimbursement from insurance. (See reimbursement calculator.) In some cases insurances will reimburse 60-80% of out-of-network claims. (PPOs)
If your insurance does not cover out-of-network claims and cost of therapy is a barrier, please let me know. I may have gratis or sliding scale openings.
Getting started
The first step is to schedule a free consultation. This provides an opportunity for us to meet and for me to learn about what you are wanting from therapy and if your needs fit in the scope of my practice. To schedule an initial consultation:
